] Malarkey: Industry leader in Class 4 impact resistance, mandatory ring-shank nails, FORTIFIED Roof™ compliance, and eco-friendly design. Their offset pattern is tight and staggered, reducing waste and improving wind uplift resistance.
] GAF: Strong Class 4 options with Golden Pledge® warranty, flexible fastener types, and consistent offset pattern. Widely available and trusted by insurers.
] CertainTeed: Excellent warranty structure (Integrity Roof System®), consistent offset pattern, and solid Class 4 performance. Slightly less aggressive on fastener mandates than Malarkey.
] Owens Corning: Reliable Class 4 options, good offset pattern, and broad availability. Requires 6 nails for high-slope installs but doesn’t mandate ring-shank for Class 4.
] IKO: Offers Class 4 shingles and ring-shank recommendations, but less consistent in warranty enforcement and offset pattern. Still a solid choice, but not as robust in high-wind or hail-prone zones.
